Emergency Dental Care
If your child has suffered an acute oral injury, call Sparkle Pediatric Dentistry at (804) 746-7382. Dr. Holly Lewis and our dental team will make every effort to see patients on the same day as the injury or emergency. It is important to us, as your child’s dental home, to provide expert dental care especially during his or her time of need. We understand that mouth or tooth trauma is painful and we can help ease your child’s discomfort while making sure their oral health is intact.
Often, during a dental emergency, time plays a critical role in the success of the outcome. The sooner your child can be seen, the more likely the tooth or teeth can be saved without permanent nerve damage. If your child has chipped a tooth, knocked a tooth loose or out, our goal is to stabilize the tooth and repair it if possible. Pediatric dentist in Short Pump, Dr. Holly Lewis, will continue to check on the healing of your child’s tooth through follow-up appointments.
Other dental emergencies can include:
- Object stuck in teeth or braces
- Chipped, cracked or fractured tooth
- Severe toothache, sensitivity to hot or cold
- Infected tooth or abscess with swelling and pain to the touch
- Knocking a tooth loose or out
