The staff members at Sparkle Pediatric Dentistry are the backbone of our practice. They have the knowledge, experience, and character to make our young patients feel safe and secure from the moment they come to our office, throughout their appointments, and as they leave to go about their day. Dental Hygienists
Heather
Heather has been a Registered Dental Hygienist for 28 years. A native of Buffalo, NY, she joined Sparkle Pediatric Dentistry in 2018. She loves working with children and helping them become healthier.
Heather believes the information and techniques we teach during a dental visit are the most important parts. The most rewarding part for Heather is seeing all the healthy, smiling faces leaving the office.
She is a proud mother to her son, who resides in Tampa, FF. When Heather isn’t working, she loves to travel and spend time with her family and friends. Go, Bills!
Dameien
Dameien is our Registered Dental Hygienist for the Short Pump, VA location.
Over the past 22 years, he has worked in many facets of dentistry - from pediatrics to periodontics. Dameien brings a cool, calm, and soothing energy to all of his patients.
He enjoys helping children develop healthy, lifelong dental habits.
Jaila
Jaila is our registered dental hygienist at our Mechanicsville and Short Pump locations. She graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor's in Dental Hygiene and has over 10 years of dental experience. Jaila is skilled in educating the youth and helping children develop healthy dental habits that will last a lifetime. She understands that children may feel nervous or anxious about visiting the dentist, so she takes pride in making each appointment feel fun, welcoming, relaxing, and educational.
When she's not in the office, you can find Jaila spending time with her husband, chasing around her active one-year-old son and Yorkie. Her favorite hobbies are trying new restaurants, shopping, spending time with the lord, family, friends, and vacationing.
Myofunctional Services
Christine Hedblom, RDH OMT
Orofacial Myologist
Christine attended Virginia Commonwealth University for her undergraduate studies, majoring in forensic science and Arabic. She graduated from the Dental Hygiene Program at the VCU School of Dentistry in 2010. She received the Colgate STAR Award, top 50 VCU Alumni Award, and has written several oral health articles, published in Your Health magazine. She also won the award for Richmond Top Hygienist in the Richmond Magazine for 2021, 2022, and 2023! Christine has been a practicing dental hygienist for 15 years, and has worked as a biological hygienist, in holistic dentistry for the past 5 years.
Christine has been practicing as an orofacial myologist (myofunctional therapist) for 5 years and is constantly taking continuing education courses to learn even more!
She has taken several myofunctional and airway health related courses under the direction of world renowned educators including: Dr. Soroush Zaghi, Dr. Kevin Boyd, Dr. Ben Miraglia, Dr. Simon Wong, Dr. Michael Gelb, Dr. Bret Christensen and Melissa Mugno.
Christine actually had a tongue tie herself, and did not have it addressed until she was an adult, and became her own myofunctional therapy patient. She is especially passionate about helping children breathe and sleep better. She enjoys thinking outside of the box to help people improve not only their oral health, but also their overall health. In addition to her career, she has a passion for all things fitness and nature related.
Outside of work, Christine enjoys traveling the world with her flight attendant sister.
She's been to six continents and is hoping to visit the last one, one day!
Lexie
Myofunctional Assistant
Lexie has been in the dental field for a little over a year. She is currently completing classes to expand her knowledge and become a dental hygienist. Lexie became interested in the dental field through Dr. Lewis. She's been a patient at Sparkle Pediatric Dentistry for over 6 years and immensely enjoyed her experience here growing up. Lexie hopes to continue learning and growing in the dental field.
When she isn’t at work or focusing on her studies, she spends her time with her younger sister.
Support Staff
Stacey
Office Manager, Mechanicsville Office
Stacey has worked in dentistry for over 20 years. She loves pediatric dentistry, and she has a passion for making sure children have the best experience at the dentist's office.
Stacey is married, and she has 3 children, 5 grandchildren, and 1 dog. In her spare time, she loves to watch baseball!
She believes in treating others the way you would like to be treated.
Courtney
Office Manager
Short Pump, VA Office
Courtney has 20 years of dental experience. She loves helping children overcome their fear of dentistry.
She is married and has 3 children and 3 dogs. In her free time, Courtney loves being outdoors with her family.

D'Andria
Front Desk Coordinator
D'Andria has been working as a dental assistant for 5 years. During that time, she's particularly enjoyed working with children.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her children and husband. D'Andria also has a love for travel and shopping.
Ashley

Myofunctional Coordinator
Dental Assistant
Ashley has been a dental assistant since 2020, after taking Sparkle Pediatric Dentistry's 9-week dental assistant course. Ashley is cross-trained, and she is quite often found up front or answering the phones.
She has recently taken on a new journey with Sparkle as the myofunctional coordinator. She has a new-found passion for this and loves being able to make a whole body difference for children!
Ashley enjoys spending time with her husband and dogs. She's also an avid gardener.
Michelle
Insurance Coordinator
Michelle has worked in general and pediatric dentistry for 11 years. She received her dental assisting certification from Chesterfield County Technical Center. She’s been employed with Sparkle Pediatric Dentistry for 8 years. She started as the receptionist, then moved to patient coordinator now insurance coordinator.
She has 2 children, Alyssa and Christian, whom she loves to infinity and beyond. She also has 2 dogs, Hercules and Sparky, who bring so much joy to their family. She enjoys spending time with the best family in this world!
She also spends time with her Social Club friends, where she spends time giving back to the community by sporting and bringing awareness to lupus, giving out scholarships to high school graduates, giving time by feeding the homeless, as well as supporting youth by handing out backpacks and school supplies.
Ramona
Insurance Coordinator
Ramona has been a Registered Nurse for over 60 years. She's a pediatric nurse practitioner who earned her master's in nursing at age 60. Nursing has been her life. The best part of her life is being a mother and grandmother to Dr. Holly Lewis and her 3 children. “My daughter really cares about her patients and staff,” Ramona said.
Ramona was there when Dr. Lewis decided to launch her dental career and open the Mechanicsville, VA office. She is beyond proud of her and blessed to see her grow not only in her dental practice but with her family.
Ramona has 5 grandchildren whom she loves dearly. Another important part of Ramona’s life is her church, which has always been there in her times of need to share the love of God. Prayer is an important part of her daily life, because God cares!

Jacky
Clinical Supervisor, Mechanicsville Office
Jacky is a certified dental assistant. She has about 3 years of experience in the field of dentistry. She studied dental assisting at Fortis College, where she was a member of the National Honor Society.
Jack is bilingual - she speaks English and Spanish.
She enjoys working with kids and creating a fun learning experience where they can overcome their fears.
In her free time, she loves to spend time at home with her dog Slinky, family, and friends. She likes to bake, do hair and makeup, and work on DIY projects.

I have been a Registered Dental Assistant for 17 years. I graduated from the Technical Institute of Camden County in Sicklerville NJ.
One of my biggest enjoyments in working in the Dental Field is gaining the "trust" of a child/ adult and being able to help them one step at a time.
I was born and raised in South Jersey. I am a Jersey girl at heart and love being anywhere close to the water.
I spend my weekends keeping busy with my little yorkie poo, Murphy.
I love to sing and love anything that has to do with Flamingo's. <3
